When True Revival Comes

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. ”
Colossians 3:1-2 KJV
When true revival comes, the attractions and attention of men are shifted from earthly pursuits to eternal realities; from the treasures of this world to the treasures of heaven; and from the pursuit of temporal things to the pursuit of eternal life.
Revival changes what captures the heart.
What once seemed important loses its grip.
What once seemed distant becomes a present reality.
The things of this world lose their attraction, while the things of God become increasingly precious.
Revival turns the heart upward.
It redirects our desires, reorders our priorities, and restores our hunger for God.
Jesus said:
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth... but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
— Matthew 6:19–20
True revival is not merely an increase in church activities; it is a divine reordering of human affections.
When heaven becomes more attractive than earth,
when eternity becomes more important than temporality,
when Christ becomes more precious than possessions,
then something is truly happening in the heart.
Lord, revive us again!
